BIFT
admits students into the following MBA & Bachelor Degree Programs,
which are affiliated to the National University, Gazipur,
Bangladesh and are subject to policies, rules and regulations
approved by the National University:
& MBA In Apparel Merchandising
MBA in Apparel Merchandising is a 2 years full time Masters Program. A student has to earn 60 credits to be eligible for MBA Degree. In the RMG sector in home and abroad merchandising is a highly valued profession. Starting with a modest salary a successful merchandiser salary may go up to 2-3 lacs per month within 8-10 years. The MBA Program in Apparel Merchandising intends to develop managers by enhancing technical skill and competencies required Apparel Merchandising. After successful completion of this program, a student will be competent to join as merchandisers in the RMG sector and buying houses.
Eligibility of Admission: Minimum Graduate or equivalent Degree with a CGPA at lest 2.5 at Undergraduate or graduate level or total seven points up to graduate level.

Eligibility
for Admission:
1. Academic Qualifications:
S.S.C, H.S.C or equivalent degree with minimum 3.00 GPA. Or GCE A-level
and O-level: A-level in two subjects and O-level in five subjects
with a GPA of 3.0 or above, according to the scale: A=5, B=4,
C=2, D=2 & E=1. Or A USA high school diploma or equivalent,
and
2.
Acceptable scores in BIFT’s admission test, or a minimum
score of 1050 in the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and at
least 173 on the Computer Based Test or 500 in the regular
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
Admission:
Application forms are available from BIFT, a complete application
includes:
1)
completed application form;
2)
clean copies of certificates and mark-sheets;
3)
two letters of recommendation from previous teachers; and
4)
two passport size photographs.
Complete application in prescribed form must be submitted
in person by 2:00PM on due date to the Office of the Registrar,
BIFT, floor-3, SR Tower, 105 Uttara Commercial Area, Uttara
Model Town, Dhaka -1230.
Due dates for application are announced and posted in BIFT
notice boards and can be obtained over telephone: 891-9986,
891-9987. Eligible candidates are required to take a three-hour
Admission Test consisting of multiple-choice and essay questions
in English, Mathematics, and Creativity. Letters of acceptance
are issued to applicants selected for admission. Accepted
applicants must complete admission procedures by due date.
Decision of the Admission Committee constituted for these
programs is final. Any attempt to exert undue influence may
lead to disqualification, or to dismissal if admitted.
Advising
and Registration:
Academic advising is mandatory for all students admitted into
B. Sc. Programs. Students must obtain clearance from their
advisors to register for courses. Upon admission into a program,
students are given a list of core courses and elective courses,
along with a proposed plan for each year of study. At least
twice a year, in July and in January, academic records are
scrutinized and students are required to meet their advisors
to monitor their progress, consider career options, and choose
elective courses. Courses are offered by the Institute to
enable students to progress in their programs at a brisk pace.
But it is a student’s responsibility to fulfill degree
requirements. Due dates for tuition payment and registration
are announced as and when courses are offered, usually one
week before first day of classes. Once registered for a course,
students can cancel their registration altogether, or be re-advised
into another course, before the first day of classes. No tuition
adjustment or refund is authorized after the first day of
classes. Courses offered, may be cancelled or rescheduled,
if the number of registered students is very low. In such
cases, the tuition paid will be adjusted against subsequent
courses. Grades will be assigned for all courses into which
a student registers and will be included in the overall GPA
calculation reported on the transcript.
